Rod is currently the Vice President of D & L Protective Services. Prior to his current role he was the Managing Partner for Optic Risk Solutions. He was previously the Executive Director for D & L Protective Services. Prior to D & L he was the Managing Director for Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations. He has served in executive loss prevention and security positions with companies such as Blockbuster Entertainment and Loomis Fargo.
Rod also served as Manager of Corporate Security for Exel Logistics and in management positions with Sears and Neiman Marcus. He served eight years in the United States Navy and also worked as an adult probation officer for the State of Texas. Rod has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Science from National University and a Masters in Professional Development from Amberton University. He has published articles in several professional periodicals with his most recent articles in Loss Prevention Magazine.
Additionally, he has written a book entitled A Manager’s Guide to Workplace Violence (no longer in print). He has written his first crime fiction book entitled; Thou Shall Not Steal. His specialties include workplace safety, executive/personal protection, workplace training/program development, internal theft, investigations, active aggressor, workplace violence and program development.
Rod has been a guest speaker on subjects such as active shooter, security for houses of worship, internal theft, armed robbery, executive protection, workplace violence and other topics. He is a graduate and a former board member to the Dallas FBI Citizens Academy. Rod is also a graduate of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Citizens Academy. Rod is the co-founder and Past Chairman of the International Supply Chain Protection Organization and also served on the advisory board to the University of North Texas School of Criminal Justice.
In his current role at D & L Protective Services he has direct oversight of global operations including all security and loss prevention programs, executive protection (i.e. company executives, high profile individuals, politicians, pastors, etc.), workplace protection (i.e. terminations, stressful events), investigations, surveillance, security consulting, active aggressor training and other security related elements for multiple companies, schools, houses of worship and organizations.
